✨ How were you first introduced to Narrow-Gauge Designs? (NGD) What initially attracted you to the jewelry? Was it the design? Materials? Story?
“ I was first introduced to NGD when I saw Esla wearing a bracelet at the studio that our children dance at together. I loved the look of it and asked her where she had gotten it. Little did I know that she had created it herself! I was drawn to how delicate and dainty the piece was, while still making a statement.”
✨ Do you have a favorite piece of NGD jewelry? Was it from a collection or was it a custom design?
“ I have loved all of my NGD jewelry, but right now I am in a copper phase, so I am absolutely loving my “Amador City” Copper Minimalist bracelet.
✨ Jewelry is a creative outlet for me. Do you have a creative outlet or is your job your passion?
“ Being a former ballet dancer, I have always been artistic and a lover of the arts. However, after an injury ended my dancing days, I really didn’t find a fulfilling replacement artistic outlet until nearly 15 years later. I had gotten into the Western horse world, thanks to my daughter, and was really loving all of the beautiful tooled leather products that are such a staple of the Western culture. Thinking that I might enjoy dabbling in the art of leather, my husband gifted me a starter leather work set for Christmas one year. I dove right in and thanks to YouTube tutorials and learning from fellow makers on social media, I grew in my craft and was able to start producing products that I was proud of. Fast forward to today, I now have a fun little side hustle that allows me to design and create not only functional, but beautiful western leather goods.
✨ Where does NGD jewelry accompany you? Activities? Special occasions? Work? Exciting travel locals?
“My NGD jewelry accompanies me everywhere! I put on a couple of my minimalist bracelets and they don’t ever come off! They are dainty and beautiful, but strong enough to hold up to my tough horsewoman lifestyle. Whether I am throwing hay, barrel racing, or mucking stalls, they go with me. And then, when I have to throw on a dress to go to the ballet, they still go with me. They’ve gone to the Eiffel Tower, and Monet‘s garden, and on date nights too! They are perfect for every part of my life!
✨ If you could step back in to any decade or era, which would you choose? Why?
“I don’t know that I would want to live in any other era! Although there are some really appealing aspects of the Wild West that call to me, life is just too good today!”
